4th Quarter Comeback Sparks Big Tigers Victory

Duncan, Elms boot 4 each as Tigers finish season undefeated at home

The North Carolina Tigers hosted the Baltimore-Washington Eagles on Saturday in their final regular season game of the year. It was a hotly contested affair with the Tigers hoping to avenge a road loss to the Eagles earlier in the season and both sides hoping to carry some momentum into next week’s nationals. The Tigers had a great start jumping out to early lead booting 5 goals to 2 in the first quarter. The Eagles upped their work rate in the 2nd and 3rd quarters however, and were able to wrestle both the momentum and the lead away from the Tigers to hold an 8-point advantage going into then final term. The afternoon belonged to the Tigers though, with a 6-goal final term securing the comeback win and sending the North Carolina side into nationals with a big confidence boost. Read More »

Kookaburras Too Tough for Tigers

Atlanta avenges road loss with comeback win at home

The NC Tigers took a strong side for the trip down I-85 with high hopes of completing a rare season sweep after a huge blowout victory over the Kookaburras at home earlier in the year. Despite being low on numbers for the game, the Tigers were high on confidence having worked hard on the training track and having proved they can play winning football. The North Carolina side came out strongly, winning possession all over the field and building a healthy lead early on. However, key injuries forced Coach Wes Mac to reshuffle his troops and the Burra’s were able to turn the game around. In the end the Tigers didn’t have the legs to run out the game as strong as they needed to, as the classy Atlanta side ran out 15-point winners. Read More »

Tigers Fall Just Short in Valiant Road Performance

Hawks hold on for nail-biting 7-point win

The NC Tigers sent a strong squad up to the city of brotherly love, determined to bring home a road victory. The city of Philadelphia turned on a hot sunny day for the clash between the Hawks and the Tigers and it was a great day of footy. The contest remained a close out throughout, with the result remaining in doubt until the final siren as players from both sides left it all out on the ground. The Tigers’ side was short on numbers resulting in a long, hot day for the players with very little rest. This didn’t deter the North Carolina side who put on a gutsy display of hard-running, team football to nearly pull of a stunning upset against a strong rival. Read More »
