Unfortunately Seattle in another pool finished with a slightly higher percentage keeping us out of the final four, but we have proven that we can not be taken lightly and will come out stronger next year. The Tigers, having gone undefeated for the year in the home and away rounds of the SEAFL, lost the Grand Final to a tough Atlanta team over the weekend. June 30th, 2001 - Tigers beat Tri-Cities in Kingsport, TN.

The Tigers, with a vastly depleted line-up due to school vacation and various other wishy-washy reasons, overcame Tri-Cities in a tough, gutsy win. The 8 players that did turn up played their hearts out, and with a 50 to 2 point second quarter built an insurmountable lead. Both teams tired badly in the heat in the last quarter, but the Tigers hung on for a comfortable 31 point win.

An unseasonably hot day saw a strong Tigers line-up continue their unbeaten season and run away with the win over Cincinnati. The heat saw both teams fade in the last, but the Tigers had established an unbeatable lead at that point and they ran out easy winners.

March 31st, 2001 - Tigers open the season with a win

The Tigers travelled to Atlanta with a strong contingent of players, and came out with a hard fought win on the rough sloping field. June 24th, 2000 - Tigers beat the number 2 team in the country

The Tigers played host to the Nashville Kangaroos, a team unbeaten for the year against proven tough opposition, and beat them convincingly. The Tigers were without a number of their best players, and after the first quarter it looked like a walkover to Nashville. After what can only be described as a cowards act by one particular Nashville player sent Lee Angelelli to the hospital, the Tigers bounced back the best way they could and came back strong. An 8 goal last quarter sealed the game for the Tigers. Many thanks to Lee for his year of service to the club, we hate to see you go mate!

June 1st, 2000 - Drew King named in US National squad

The 2000 US National team to play Canada in Toronto later in July has officially been announced today, and the Tigers own Drew King has made the team. Drew has been with the Tigers for 18 months now and in that time has asserted himself as one of the best and strongest players on the team. He will make a great addition to the US National squad and we wish him the best of luck (just don't get injured).

May 27th, 2000 - Tigers lose in Pennsylvania, tire badly with only 9 players

The Tigers travelled to Pennsylvania with only 9 players and after leading at half time, tired badly and ended up losing by 4 goals in a tough encounter. A couple of first timers for the Tigers showed some real promise, while the more experienced put on a good show for 2 quarters until the lack of players proved too much. Game review and photo's coming soon.

March 25th-26th, 2000 - Tigers host a successful East Coast Umpires Clinic.

With over 70 players and 11 umpires from across the country and Canada in attendance, Rougemont North Carolina didn't know what hit it. Umpires got in some valuable training with the Tigers before the matches, and then got an abundance of match practice over two days as the Washington/Baltimore Eagles, the Atlanta Kookaburras, the Tri-Cities Saints and the mighty Tigers squared off. Unfortunately the Tigers, leading both games at 3 quarter time, went down 0-2 on Saturday in close results, but came back with a vengeance on Sunday trouncing the opposition. Check out the full results in the Game Schedule section here.

The Tigers were fired up by the inspirational return of Don Prost and the final game of Matt Douse before he heads home to Perth. The Rams came out strong killing the Tigers out of the center and quickly built an unassailable lead. A last quarter comeback by the Tigers wasn't enough and the Rams ran out easy winners. Congratulations to all the UNC players on a great game.

October 29th, 1999 - Tigers beat UNC Rams in a close game

The Tigers played the UNC Rams (Tigers players also but who joined through UNC) in the first intra-club game. The Rams kicked out to an early lead led by Chris, Drew, CJ and Scott and looked like pulling off a big upset, but the Tigers fought back in the last quarter to win by 2 points. Final score Tigers 5-13 43 to Rams 5-11 41. Excellent play by a number of Rams playing their first ever game looks good for the future of the club.

September 25th, 1999 - Tigers go down 0-2 in Nashville

The Tigers, missing a number of their best players, lost both their games at the recent Grand Final tournament in Nashville, TN. The Tigers were always going to struggle, missing Matt, Seth, Simon, Don, Jason and Chris among others, and with a few new players playing their first game. Numbers were down so low we had no reserves, and two injuries in the first game meant we had to borrow players for the second. A good time was still had by all (except Warren and Glenn who did all the driving), and the new guys really showed some guts and skills they didn't know they had. Read the full game reviews here.
