SUMMARY:
The North Carolina Tigers dropped their second EAFL match of the season as they traveled to face an experienced Baltimore/Washington squad. The Tigers and Eagles started off evenly with each team goaling early. However, it was the Eagles that would take the lead going in to the first break as they scored two quick goals late in the quarter.
1Q: Tigers 1.3.9 to Eagles 3.1.19

The Eagles used this late 1st quarter charge to build momentum. The Eagles surged ahead of the Tigers as their midfield controlled the ball and created several scoring chances. Recording four majors and holding the Tigers' scoring to only two behinds, the Eagles opened a 34 point gap by halftime.
2Q: Tigers 1.5.11 to Eagles 7.3.45

After some stern words from the coach and senior players, the Tigers refocused and charged into the 2nd half. Now with determination, the Tigers played football. Kicking, marking, and scoring the Tigers offense came to life! The ball was pumped up from the defense, through midfield and on to the accurate feet of the forward line. Scoring four goals to one, the Tigers clawed their way back into the match.
3Q: Tigers 5.6.36 to Eagles 8.6.54

The fourth quarter began with an energized Tigers team. Just like in the 3rd quarter, the Tigers defense held strong and numerous scoring chances were created as the Tigers controlled play. Unfortunately, the ball did not soar through the goal posts. The combination of a scrappy Eagles defense and some "close but no cigar" kicks, the Tigers fell short at the final horn.
